Gujarat government today informed that in the coming time, the Gujarat Transport Department will implement the “e-Detection” project to further strengthen the enforcement of the Motor Vehicle Act through technology. Under this, if any documents like PUC, insurance, fitness and permit of transport vehicles passing through all toll plazas under the NHAI (National Highway) and Road and Building Department (State highway) in Gujarat are not up to date on the Parivahan portal, e-challan will be issued to them.
The NIC has created an “e-Detection” portal. In the near future, it will be implemented on all toll plazas under the National and State Highways as well as Roads and Building Department in the state.
Transporters and vehicle drivers-owners from Gujarat and outside the state should keep their vehicle’s documents like PUC, insurance, fitness and permit updated on the Parivahan portal as per the Motor Vehicle Act and if not, get them updated within 7 (seven) days and follow traffic rules, the office of the Transport Commissioner, Gandhinagar has said in a release.
