How much reality is there in our reality shows? This has been a hot topic among contestants, judges, and audiences. Recently, a Reddit user shared a photo of Hema Malini seemingly reading a detailed script for an entire episode of Indian Idol. The guest judge was photographed with the script in her hands, leading fans to wonder how much of Indian Idol is pre-determined.
The post includes screenshots from the recent Holi special episode. Hema Malini was dressed in a white saree in the episode, which aired earlier this week. In the clip, she is smiling and speaking to someone off camera, with the script in her hand.
A part of the script read, “Hema ji to describe Mathura style Holi: Priyaganshu ise lath maar Holi kehte hain… (the script goes on to describe the origins of Lath Maar Holi)”
A user reacted by saying, “It has been scripted since forever!!! Most of the reality shows…even Big Boss to an extent,” while another added, “So do you think how are reality shows made lol. Nothing new in it. They need to plan everything. Those extra elements and how to make an hour.”
Another person reacted by saying, “This is so embarrassing tbh.” A comment also read, “I’d once got to work at the backstage of a dance reality show, and everything even Bharti Singh’s comic timing & punchlines and (at the time Govinda had come to the show as a judge) so even him speaking of how he liked the song a lot and the contestant wanting Govinda to dance on it, everything was scripted.”
Hema Malini was part of the Holi episode and joined the other judges panel of Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Badshah.
