In a move to curb traffic nuisances and noise pollution, the local traffic police have destroyed modified silencers seized over the past three months.
After obtaining legal approval from the court, the local police destroyed 73 modified silencers that were removed from confiscated bikes during the last three months. A road roller was used to crush these silencers.
DCP Traffic Jyoti Patel said, “As per the Motor Vehicle Act, Central Motor Vehicle Rules, and Noise Pollution Regulation and Control Rules, vehicle owners are not allowed to install such modified silencers. Keeping that in mind, in the last three months, 73 Bullet bikes were seized, and their modified silencers were removed. After receiving the court order, we are destroying these.”
