Anurita Jana and Bishal Saikia, two students from the National Institute of Design’s Apparel Design 2023 batch, were named first runner-ups in the International Student Design Competition for Bharat Tex 2025. The duo won for their product Deepa, a handcrafted bamboo floor lamp shade designed on the topic of Sustainable Future (Innovation with Indigenous Knowledge) and entered in the Lifestyle Product Innovation category. They received a cash prize of Rs 1,50,000 along with a certificate.
