Justice Biren Aniruddh Vaishnav of the Gujarat High Court will serve as Acting Chief Justice from February 18th to March 2nd, as the incumbent Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal will be on leave, the central government announced today.
The notification issued by the Ministry of Law and Justice states, “In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Biren Aniruddh Vaishnav, Judge of the Gujarat High Court, to perform the duties of office of the Chief Justice of that High Court during the period of absence of Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court, who is proceeding on leave from 18.02.2025 up to 02.03.2025.”
