Government offers a three-night tour package to Maha Kumbh

Tourism Corp and GSRTC jointly launch daily Volvo bus service from A’bad to Prayagraj, priced at Rs 8,100 per passenger.

The Gujarat government announced on Friday a special trip package for people from the state wishing to attend the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has launched a daily AC Volvo bus service from Ahmedabad to Prayagraj. The service will commence on January 27, with bookings available online through the GSRTC website starting January 25.

“A three-night and four-day package for just Rs 8,100 per person has been prepared for the devotees. It is a joint initiative of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation and the Tourism Corporation. The package will include travel as well as stay,” said state minister for Home and Transport Harsh Sanghavi Under this tour package, an AC Volvo bus will depart for Prayagraj from Ranip bus depot in Ahmedabad every day at 7 am, he said. The first bus will be flagged off on the morning of January 27 by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel from Circuit House in Gandhinagar.

The package includes travel as well as a one-night stay at Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh. Pilgrims will be accommodated in dormitory-style lodging at the Kumbh Mela site, with arrangements made in collaboration with the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL). A night stay at Prayagraj has been arranged at the dormitory of Gujarat Pavilion, said Sanghavi. However, meals are not included in the package.

“Since a large number of pilgrims are visiting Prayagraj every day, the timing and facilities may change as per the situation,” said Sanghavi.
