Varsity aims to bring in flexibility in academics for students as part of National Education Policy
Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has decided to introduce multiple entry-multiple exits for diploma engineering, degree engineering and MBA students from the academic year 2024- 25, bringing in flexibility in the academics for the students as part of the National Education Policy (NEP).
This was among many decisions taken in the varsity’s academic council on Tuesday, including offering MBA in International business in online mode. Registrar KN Kher said that the multiple entry and exit will help students to not only opt out of the course from GTU but also come from other universities to GTU. “We have the policy for having minors and Honors degrees but we do not have a comprehensive policy for institutes, ie. third parties offering minors or Honors programmes The policy will now be in place for the university and institute offering industry-led minor or Honors programmes for undergraduate students,” he said.
The meeting also discussed changes in the examination paper pattern for common subjects of diploma engineering semester-1 and 2. It was also decided to start MBA-Fintech and BBA Fintech, Supply Chain Management and General Specialization, ME – Electronics and Communication (VLSI Design) from the academic year 2025-26.
