Class 11 Students Can Switch Subject Groups in Class 12
GSHSEB has announced that Class 11 science students can change their subject group by the end of the second semester, allowing flexibility in Class 12.
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has introduced new provisions regarding subject selection and group changes for Science Stream students in a bid to provide them with more flexibility and opportunities.
Under the amended provisions, students who have cleared Class 11 Science can now choose any group to study in Class 12 Science. Additionally, students will have the option to change their subject group by the end of the second semester in Class 11.
Furthermore, the new rules allow students who have failed Group B in Class 12 Science to opt for Group A or Group AB when reappearing for the examination Another notable change is that students who have passed Group B in Class 12 Science can now appear as individual candidates in Mathematics in the supplementary examination.
Re-examiners of the board examination will now be allowed to change their subject within the limits of their subject group. A student who has failed in Class 12 Science with Group B will have the option to choose either Group A or Group AB instead of repeating Group B. This provision enables students to switch to one of the remaining groups after failing.
