Ahmedabad Airport has launched a new free inter-terminal electric bus service to enhance convenience for passengers.
Two electric shuttle buses have been introduced for passengers traveling between Terminal-1 and Terminal-2. The new electric shuttle service complete with free Wi-Fi for travelers will operate every 30 minutes throughout the week, except between 11 AM and 3 PM when it will be temporarily closed.
Each shuttle bus is equipped with a 2×2 seating arrangement. The buses also feature self-operating ramps for easy access, along with a pneumatic dual-door system and a finger protection mechanism for safe and smooth boarding. In addition to air conditioning, the buses are fitted with advanced bacterial filtration systems, air sanitization systems, and digital clocks.
Each bus is also equipped with CCTV cameras, GPS trackers, an emergency panic button, and a medical kit. This electric shuttle service will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20 tons of CO2 and cut fuel consumption by approximately 7,500 liters annually.
