The Income Tax (IT) department conducted search operations on the Radhe Group and its associates on Friday, targeting over 24 locations in Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Morbi and other areas. Over two dozen teams are involved in the raids.
The group, known for its presence in the paper mill and construction industries, is being investigated for suspected benami (proxy) transactions. Mahendra Patel of the Radhe Group and his associates are under scrutiny. In Morbi, the investigation extended to the Tirthak Group, which operates in similar sectors. The IT officials raided the Tirthak Group’s office, factory and the residence of its head, Jeevraj Phultriya, on Ravapar Road around 5:30 am.
