Says IOCL Guj head Sanjib Kumar Behera, chief guest at the 33rd convocation of the Nirma University
Success is not measured just by what people achieve for themselves, but the positive impact one creates on the society and people around, said executive director and Gujarat head of Indian Oil Corporation Limited Sanjib Kumar Behera, the chief guest at the 33rd convocation of the Nirma University on Friday. Behera also encouraged graduating students to work hard with a goal to write their destiny, and said ‘future is not something you inherit, it is something you create
“You are the leaders, innovators and change-makers of tomorrow The world is waiting for you to make your mark, and I have no doubt that each one of you will do so with excellence,” he said. The ceremony saw 2,780 students graduating, including 1,884 undergraduate, 861 postgraduate, and 35 doctoral stu- dents. Among the graduates, 1,799 were male, while 981 were female students.
Behera also insisted that students must reinvent themselves as new challenges arise. “You are graduating at a pivotal time in our nation’s history. Today India is the fifth largest economy in the world Technologies such as artificial intel ligence, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing and ecommerce have seamlessly integrated into the fabric of Indian business. Our global competitiveness has strengthened constantly. Today, India is not just local-it is digital and global. The nation has emerged as a formidable service economy in the manufacturing sector, and has acquired an increasingly prominent place in the global supply chain,” he said.
Nirma University president Dr Karsanbhai K Patel emphasised the importance of continuous learning, adaptability, and values like responsibility, humility, and hard work. He encouraged graduates to contribute positively to society, protect the environment, and uphold equity. “Persistence and determination will help you overcome challenges, and lead with courage, Patel said. Director General Dr. Anup K Singh presented the annual report.
