Notification by Ahmedabad City District Education Officer allows students to wear warm clothing of their choice.
Ahmedabad city District Education Officer Rohit Chaudhari has issued a notice announcing that schools cannot mandate children to wear specific type and colour of sweaters during the winter season. This announcement brings relief to parents who are forced to buy particular sweaters matching the uniform for their children.
Every winter, the Education Department receives multiple complaints about schools mandating particular sweaters or woollen clothes for children, causing inconvenience and financial burden to parents. Consequently, the DEO office this year has made the announcement. School found imposing such rules will face action.
There have been allegations of collaboration between schools and some specific shops, favouring commercial gains.
To rectify this, the DEO has notified schools and parents that the students can wear warm clothing of their choice to school without any restrictions.
