Prime Minister Narendra Modi today e-launched the ‘Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra’ at Chandlodia-B Railway Station in the city. Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibha Jain was present at the event. The Prime Minister e-launched 18 ‘Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras’ across the country, including one at Chandlodia-B Railway Station in Ahmedabad, with the launch telecast live from Darbhanga, Bihar.
On this occasion, Mayor Pratibha Jain wished the attendees a happy new year and expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi. She emphasized that the launch of the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra at 18 railway stations, including Ahmedabad’s Chandlodia-B Railway Station, was a proud moment for the country. “We are all grateful to Prime Minister Modi for this initiative,” she said.
She further noted that through the ‘Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra,’ people will have access to quality medicines at nominal prices, which will enhance their health and well-being. She mentioned that 13,822 such centers are currently operating in the country, and the government continues to expand them. At the end of the program, Mrs. Pratibha Jain distributed sanitary pads to women police officers.
Sabarmati MLA Mr. Hasmukhbhai Patel delivered the welcome speech for the event. A cultural program organized by students was also part of the celebration.
Present at the event were Railway Manager and DRM of Ahmedabad Mandal Sudhirkumar Sharma, Senior DCM Anu Tyagi, employees of various railway departments, Health Department officials, and other dignitaries and citizens.
