The construction of Neha Flats, a residential scheme, was underway without proper authorization on Sonal Cinema Road, located within TP Scheme No. 83, Final Plot No. 82, in the Sarkhej ward of the South West Zone. In response to this violation, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) took action today to halt the unauthorized work and seal the property to prevent further construction.
Earlier, in October 2020, the city civic body had demolished the structure, rendering it unusable. However, construction activity recently resumed, and when this came to the corporation’s attention, the property was sealed again, and construction was halted. Although the construction company was instructed to cease operations and obtain the necessary permission, construction activities continued.
Today, October 25, 2024, under tight police security from Vejalpur Police Station, the removal of a total of 27 units of the residential scheme named Neha Flats was undertaken using 3 Hitachi machines, 6 breaker machines, 7 gas cutters, and 45 private contractor laborers.
