The southwest monsoon is gradually withdrawing from Gujarat, meanwhile bringing heavy rains to parts of the state. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued orange and red alerts for some parts of Gujarat for the next four days, until September 28th.
The IMD also stated that the line of withdrawal of the southwest monsoon continues to pass through Firozpur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surendranagar, Junagadh, and the coordinates 21°N/70°E.
During the next 24 hours, heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places in Valsad, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and an orange alert has been issued for these places.
Meanwhile, a yellow warning has been issued for heavy rains in Surat, Dang, Navsari, Tapi, and Gir Somnath.
On September 26th, a red alert has been issued for Valsad, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, as heavy to very heavy rains, with isolated extremely heavy falls, are very likely to occur.
Additionally, an orange alert has been issued for Dang, Navsari, and Bhavnagar, while a yellow warning has been issued for heavy rains in Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Tapi, and Amreli.
On September 27th, heavy to very heavy rains are very likely at isolated places in the districts of Surat, Dang, Navsari, and Tapi, and Bhavnagar has been placed on orange alert.
A yellow warning of heavy rains has also been issued for Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Gir Somnath, and Amreli.
On September 28th, a yellow warning for the likelihood of heavy rains has been issued for Chhota Udepur, Panchmahal, Dahod, and Bhavnagar.
