Coldplay is returning to India after nine years in January 2025 with its Music of the Spheres World Tour. The British rock band will perform in Mumbai for three days – January 18, 19 and 21. However, now it seems they are planning to add one more show but this time in Ahmedabad.
Coldplay eyeing to make a world record with the Ahmedabad concert?
On Monday, Coldplay India’s X handle shared a post hinting that the British band will be performing in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium in January 2025. The handle re-shared its earlier post which reads, “Phil, can we create a world record for the largest stadium concert attendance at the Modi Stadium, India? Moon Music tour will be perfect for it.” Sharing this post, today they wrote, “Stay tuned for ahemdabad announcement! (Unofficial)”.
Soon after they dropped an “unofficial” announcement, fans flooded the comment section, expressing their excitement. A user wrote, “That’s great news. If happens then this will be one of the biggest concert in recent years.” Another wrote, “One more thing tickets booking should give it to @zomato and make it non transferable. Fingers crossed.” The third user wrote, “Make it official please. Also don’t sell through BMS. We deserve a better ticketing system.” The fourth user wrote, “Is this fr? Or are you making up unnecessary hype? You got it from a source unofficially or this is coming unofficially from you?”
Coldplay’s Mumbai concert triggers rise in hotel prices near DY Patil Stadium
Coldplay will be performing at DY Patil Stadium and hotels near it are fully booked, particularly on the concert dates. While other hotels have hiked their prices, costing an individual around Rs 3-5 lakhs for three nights. The Courtyard by Marriott Hotel, Fortune Select Exotica and Taj Vivanta do not have any rooms available, per MakeMyTrip and their official websites. Another hotel The Park Navi Mumbai near the stadium, which also offers views of the stadium just like the above three, charges Rs 98,499 (excluding taxes) per night, around the time when Coldplay will be in India for the concert.
