Several places in the South Gujarat region were battered by heavy rain over the weekend, but Monday has brought some relief with only up to 1 inch of rain recorded by 2 PM. However, some areas in both North and South Gujarat might experience heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, during the next five days, until August 8th, only a few districts are expected to receive heavy rain, while the remaining areas are expected to have light to moderate rains.
According to the latest IMD bulletin, on August 5th, heavy to very heavy rains are likely at isolated places in the districts of the Gujarat region, namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli, which are under an orange alert.
A yellow warning for very likely heavy rains has been issued for Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Vadodara, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, and Kutch.
On August 6th, a yellow warning predicting heavy rains has been issued for Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
On August 7th, there is no warning or alert in place, but light to moderate rain is likely in all districts of Gujarat.
On August 8th, a yellow warning of heavy rains is issued for Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
On August 9th, a yellow warning of heavy rains is issued for Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Valsad, and in Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli.
