The health department of the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on Wednesday sealed 21 construction sites identified as mosquito breeding grounds. Additionally, notices were issued to 143 sites, resulting in a total fine of ₹7 lakh.
The affected construction sites include The Imperialian in Gota, the MR construction site in Khadia, and Vyapti-Vande Mataram in Asarwa, each fined ₹50,000.
The AMC’s actions come as cases of vector-borne diseases are on the rise in the city. In the last 27 days, the city reported 121 cases of dengue, 27 cases of malaria, 6 cases of chikungunya, and 2 cases of falciparum malaria.
