The Kutch police have arrested Bharat Chaudhari, the mastermind behind the Mahadev app, which has been at the centre of a nationwide cricket betting scandal. Chaudhari was operating a large-scale online cricket betting network.
According to Chirag Kordiya, Inspector General (IG), Kutch Border Range, “Bharat Chaudhari is the developer of the Mahadev app. He was arrested when he arrived in Gujarat’s Patan from Dubai. During his interrogation and examination of his phone, financial transactions worth ₹5,213 crore were found. The investigation is still ongoing and more revelations are expected.”
Chaudhari’s WhatsApp group revealed the total annual turnover of the Mahadev app.
Police sources revealed that they had received confidential information about Chaudhari’s arrival in Patan.
The police said that the accused Chaudhari has named his partners as Saurabh Chandrakar, Atul Agrawal, Dilipkumar Prajapati, and Ronak Kumar, all residing in Dubai, and one Ravikumar Singh from Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
23 betting IDs were found on Chaudhari’s mobile phone.
