Sanand GIDC police have arrested five individuals involved in stealing two-wheelers from parking lots and selling them illegally. A total of 22 stolen two-wheelers, worth ₹10.15 lakh, have been seized from the accused. It has been revealed that the accused stole vehicles for fun.
The arrested individuals are Harshad Thakor, Jayesh Thakor, Kalabhai Thakor, Hardik Koli Patel, and Dashrath Senwa. The police have confiscated the 22 stolen two-wheelers from them. This gang operated in the Ellisbridge, Sola, Bopal areas of the city, as well as in Mehsana district. They targeted vehicles that were not properly locked and would steal them easily. If a vehicle failed to start, the thieves would push it with another vehicle to escape.
it was revealed that Harshad Thakor was the mastermind behind the vehicle thefts, with Jayesh Thakor and Kalabhai Thakor as his accomplices. Additionally, 7 stolen vehicles were recovered from Hardik Koli Patel and 5 from Dashrath Senwa. Another 10 vehicles were seized from the remaining three accused. Hardik Koli Patel and Dashrath Senwa sold the stolen vehicles cheaply and would retrieve them if buyers requested the documents.
