The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to heavy rainfall in various parts of Gujarat over the next five days. Heavy rainfall is expected in Banaskantha, Dahod, Mahisagar, Chhotaudepur, and Bhavnagar, among other districts.
Moreover, heavy rains are also expected on Rath Yatra, viz July 7.
The IMD has issued a five-day heavy to very heavy rainfall warning for the state due to a cyclonic circulation and an offshore trough.
With significant downpours already having set foot in the North, Saurashtra, and South Gujarat, the IMD has issued various alerts regarding the upcoming rains.
An orange alert has been issued for North and South Gujarat, while a Yellow alert has been issued for Saurashtra and Central Gujarat. Heavy rainfall has been predicted in Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, and Aravalli in North Gujarat.
Heavy showers are also anticipated in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Patan, Mehsana, Kheda, Anand, Vadodara, Surendranagar, Botad, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Rajkot, and Amreli in the coming days.
Fishermen have also been advised not to venture into the sea for the next five days due to this forecast.
