The Ahmedabad CID crime busted a major GST bogus billing racket, running into Rs 1000 crore.
Based on the input, teams of CID Crime raided an office located at Nirav Complex near Navrang School in Navrangpura and booked two persons — Umang Vinod Darji and his associate Ravi Prakash Soni.
Darji along with his accomplices used to fake rubber stamps. They would fake bills of Gold, Silver, different kinds of softwares, cement, etc., for traders and help them claim input tax credit. Darji used to take commission from the traders for the faking bills.
