A fire broke out on the ninth floor of Commerce House 4, located near the Shell petrol pump in the Prahladnagar area of the city. More than 15 fire brigade vehicles were immediately dispatched to the scene, and around 64 people were rescued from the commercial building.
The fire erupted around 2 pm, prompting the immediate response of 15 fire brigade vehicles from four fire stations. Forty fire personnel, including the Chief Fire Officer, engaged in the operation to extinguish the fire and rescue the people. Around 64 individuals were rescued from the building. The fire is now completely under control, and the cooling process has commenced.
The primary cause of the fire appears to be a short circuit in the electrical duct on the ninth floor. It originated on the ninth floor and quickly spread to the 11th floor. In the aftermath of the fire, individuals sought refuge on the roof, where they were safely rescued by the fire brigade team.
Chief Fire Officer Jayesh Khadia stated that the fire broke out on the 9th floor of the building. Upon learning of the incident, a hydraulic crane and firefighters were called from the surrounding fire stations, and the operation commenced. The trapped individuals have been rescued and are safe.
