About 50 women police personnel from 14 of Gujarat Railway Police have been rewarded for their exemplary work. members of the She Team of the Gujarat Railway Police, they have reunited 86 children with their families who had been separated from their parents.
Reuniting children separated from their families on railway platforms has been the key task of the She team personnel. Also, rescuing people from committing suicide on railway tracks is another of the She Team’s responsibility. After counselling them, the
She Team members approach their families and urge them for a new start. Gujarat Railway Police has 14 police stations across the state.
In order to honour the She Team personnel’s dedication, Railway SP Balaram Meena has awarded many of the women police personnel for their good performance. Every month, the women police personnel of the She Team in the Gujarat Railway Police have been given cash rewards according to their performance, and it is also noted in their service book.
Love affair major reason young girls elope, leave homeA female police officer of the She Team in the Gujarat Railway Police said: “We have seen in many cases young girls and even boys elope due to love affairs. And when their lovers do not show up, they are often found sitting alone on railway platforms in disappointment.”
Rescuing children from abductors
The She Team has also found and rescued many children on railway platforms or in trains who have been abducted but managed to give a slip to their kidnappers. The She Team personnel approach such children who are often found alone and cautiously speak to them. Upon earning their trust, they try to extract facts from them and thereby help them reunite with their families.
