The redevelopment of Kalupur railway station in Ahmedabad is currently underway to elevate its status to world-class standards. As part of these renovation efforts, the Railways has announced changes to the terminals for certain trains originating from Ahmedabad. Consequently, the terminals for several trains are being relocated to Gandhinagar Capital or Sabarmati stations.
This decision aims to enhance operational flexibility, alleviate congestion at Ahmedabad station, improve passenger services, and expedite infrastructure projects, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. Over the last two weeks, 8 trains have been relocated to Sabarmati and Gandhinagar Capital stations, and an additional 10 trains are scheduled to be shifted to these stations this week. Below are the details of these trains.
Trains shifted from Ahmedabad to Sabarmati
The terminal of Train No. 19401 Ahmedabad – Lucknow Weekly Express changed to Sabarmati w.e.f 01st April 2024 and the train will depart from Sabarmati station at 10.05 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 19402 Lucknow – Ahmedabad Weekly Express will terminate at Sabarmati w.e.f 02nd April 2024 after reaching Sabarmati station at 23.20 hrs.
The terminal of Train No. 19415 Ahmedabad – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Weekly Express changed to Sabarmati w.e.f 31st March 2024 and the train will depart from Sabarmati station at 20.45 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 19416 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – Ahmedabad Weekly Express will terminate at Sabarmati w.e.f 02nd April 2024 after reaching Sabarmati station at 21.30 hrs.
The terminal of Train No. 12957 Ahmedabad – New Delhi Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express changed to Sabarmati w.e.f 07th April 2024 and the train will depart from Sabarmati Station at 19.05 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 12958 New Delhi – Ahmedabad Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express will terminate at Sabarmati w.e.f 06th April 2024 after reaching Sabarmati station at 08.05 hrs.
Trains shifted from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar Capital
The terminal of Train No. 22957 Ahmedabad – Veraval Superfast Express changed to Gandhinagar Capital w.e.f 02nd April, 2024 and the train will depart from Gandhinagar Capital station at 21.55 hrs. This train will have additional halt at Chandlodiya station and will arrive/depart at 22.18/22.20 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 22958 Veraval – Ahmedabad Superfast Express will terminate at Gandhinagar Capital w.e.f 01st April, 2024 and after reaching Gandhinagar Capital station at 05.55 hrs. This train will have an additional halt at Chandlodiya station and will arrive/depart at 05.10/05.12 hrs.
The terminal of Train No. 19223 Ahmedabad – Jammu Tawi Express changed to Gandhinagar Capital w.e.f 02nd April, 2024 and the train will depart from Gandhinagar Capital station at 11.20 hrs. This train will skip a halt at Sabarmati station.
Similarly, Train No. 19224 Jammu Tawi – Ahmedabad Express will terminate at Gandhinagar Capital w.e.f 01st April, 2024 and after reaching Gandhinagar Capital station at 13.30 hrs. This train will skip a halt at Sabarmati station.
