The Kalupur railway station in Ahmedabad is undergoing redevelopment to achieve world-class status. Another significant redevelopment project is underway at Sabarmati station, including infrastructure upgrades at the Integrated Coaching Depot (ICD) to improve train maintenance facilities. Additionally, stations like Maninagar, Vatva, Chandlodia, and Asarva are being developed as Amrit Stations to enhance capacity and passenger amenities.
Due to these redevelopment efforts, the Railways has announced terminal changes for some trains originating from Ahmedabad. As a result, a few trains’ terminals are being relocated to Gandhinagar Capital or Sabarmati stations. This move aims to enhance operational flexibility, reduce congestion at Ahmedabad station, improve passenger services, and expedite infrastructure projects, including the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.
Six pairs of trains will now operate from Sabarmati station, while three pairs will move to Gandhinagar Capital. Consequently, the timings of these trains will be adjusted accordingly. Three pairs of trains will commence operating from Sabarmati station starting this week. Details regarding the affected trains and their revised schedules are provided below:
- The terminal of Train No. 19407 Ahmedabad – Varanasi Weekly Express changed to Sabarmati w.e.f 28th March 2024 and it will depart from Sabarmati station at 22.00 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 19408 Varanasi – Ahmedabad Weekly Express will terminate at Sabarmati w.e.f 30th March 2024 after reaching Sabarmati station at 21.30 hrs.
- The terminal of Train No. 19409 Ahmedabad – Gorakhpur Bi–Weekly Express changed to Sabarmati w.e.f 28th March 2024 and it will depart from Sabarmati station at 10.05 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 19410 Gorakhpur – Ahmedabad Bi–Weekly Express will terminate at Sabarmati w.e.f 30th March 2024 after reaching Sabarmati station at 10.00 hrs.
- The terminal of Train No. 20939 Ahmedabad – Sultanpur Weekly Superfast Express changed to Sabarmati w.e.f 26th March 2024 and it will depart from Sabarmati station at 08.20 hrs.
Similarly, Train No. 20940 Sultanpur – Ahmedabad Weekly Superfast Express will terminate at Sabarmati w.e.f 27th March, 2024 after reaching Sabarmati station at 21.30 hrs.
