The Gujarat government today announced 12,472 police recruitments for statewide aspirants willing to join the force.
This includes the recruitment of 472 new PSIs (police sub-inspectors), 6,600 constables, including SRP (state reserve police), 3,302 armed police constables, 1,000 SRPF (state reserve police force) posts, and 1,013 jail warder posts.
The announcement was made by the minister of state for home affairs, Harsh Sanghavi, on his X account. Sanghavi wrote, “Good news for young people who want to join the Gujarat Police! A total of 12,472 posts in the Gujarat Police will be filled through direct recruitment by the state government. Apply online and join the Gujarat Police to serve the country.”
Police recruitment scheme
The application process for LRD (Lok Rakshak Dal) and PSI will start on Apr 4. Applications can be made on the website ojas.gujarat.gov.in. The last date for applying will be published on the website.
The minimum education requirement for LRD eligibility is Class 12 passed, and the same for PSI recruitment is graduation.
Initially, a physical test will be conducted for LRD. Successful candidates will be shortlisted for a 200-mark MCQ test, where a CBRT (computer-based recruitment test) is reported to be conducted. The time duration for the 200-mark test will be 180 minutes (3 hours).
