A major racket manufacturing fake antacid pouches was busted by Ahmedabad police on Mar 10 in the city’s Nikol area.
The police busted a factory in Mayur Estate, located near Khodiyar Mandir, and seized a large quantity of fake pouches, label rolls, and packing machines, among other equipment. Three people have also been arrested in connection with the case.
Staff personnel from Ahmedabad DCP (deputy commissioner of police) zone-5 office were tipped off by an authorised person of a private medical company of a unit manufacturing fake antacid pouches of the company ‘Eno’, premixes for relieving gas and acidity issues.
The unit was being run by an individual named Ramesh Bhadani, and the fake pouches were supplied to Ahmedabad and other districts statewide.
The pouches were supplied with a fake imprinted logo of the company, posed as being an original product.
