63 persons or commercial units were fined a total of Rs 1.49 lakh in 2022. In 2023, 36 persons or commercial units were fined a total of Rs 1.13 lakh. upon receiving complaints, the department is empowered to take action. Additionally, the department also sends its field officers for inspection at the block or district level.
hotels, restaurants or eateries charge more than what is printed as MRP. At five-star hotels, a water bottle is charged for Rs 500. In restaurants too, they charge more than the printed price.” Minister Said.
