22nd Annual TTEC Wellness Walk – 4,753 participants registered for a cause and raised Rs. 83.46 Lakh for 4 NGOs working for social upliftment

22nd Annual TTEC Wellness Walk – 4,753 participants registered for a cause and raised Rs. 83.46 Lakh for 4 NGOs working for social upliftment

The 22nd Annual TTEC Wellness Walk was held today at the L. D. College of Engineering. 4,753 enthusiastic registrants participated in this much-awaited event of the city of Ahmedabad. Providing a transparent platform for individuals and companies to come together, the charity walk promoted health awareness and raised funds for 4 different NGOs. We had participants from different cities in India in addition to global participation.

The 4 km walk / 7.5 km run was flagged off at 7 am today. 

The 22nd Annual Wellness Walk beneficiary NGOs are:
 Gujarat Rajya Gram Vikas Samiti – Serving since 1988 to empower underserved rural communities through quality education, water, sanitation, environment, livelihood, women empowerment and rural development initiatives for improving socio-economic conditions. – 80 (G) 
 
Manav Gulzar – Established in 2014, works for the holistic development of underprivileged communities with primary focus on value based formal and non-formal education, youth development, health and nutrition, skill training and employability. – 80 (G)
 
New Way Educational & Rural Development Trust – Runs Freedom Day Care Center at Dholka, near Ahmedabad since 2010 for specially abled children to provide basic education, vocational training through process-based learning, speech therapy, physiotherapy, and parental guidance. – 80 (G)
 
Utkarsh – Registered in 2013, the trust aims to empower girl children and support women from marginalized social groups enabling them to become self-reliant and improve their standard of living through better health & nutrition, education, and holistic well-being. – 80 (G)
 
34 companies supported the 2024 TTEC Wellness Walk to raise funds for the above four NGOs. A total of Rs.83.46 Lakh (USD 100k) was raised this year through individual registrations and sponsorships. TTEC contributed a total of Rs.42 lacs (~USD 50,500) as registration matching & donation. All the sponsorship cheques were written directly in the name of the NGOs. Over 22 years, a total of 100,555 walkers/runners and 284 corporate sponsors have participated in the Annual TTEC Wellness Walk and have helped raise 11.37 Crores (USD 1.83) for 74 NGOs.

Biju Pillai, Vice President, Operations, India – TTEC said “When ‘Ahmedabad Walks, India Changes’ – we saw another great example with the entire community coming together to make the 22nd Annual TTEC Wellness Walk a great success. I am really pleased to share that with the amazing support and participation of our community and sponsors, we have been able to raise INR 83.5L (~USD 100,000). We had a total of 4,800 participants across the world who have made generous contributions to the cause. Over the last 22 years, we have raised INR 11.37 crores (USD 1.83M) benefiting 74 NGOs and have had over 100,000 participants who have now been associated with this community event. It has been a truly humbling experience, and I would like to thank all the participants, sponsors/partners and all our employees, who worked passionately and diligently to make it a success. Together, we made a difference.”
