However, sources reveal that the iconic joint venture Maruti Suzuki is also eyeing opening its second car manufacturing unit in Gujarat.
Maruti Suzuki, which has already had one manufacturing unit in Mehsana’s Becharaji since 2017, is likely to sign an MoU with the state government to set up a manufacturing unit in Gujarat.
With a burden of a 3 lakh car manufacturing backlog, sources said that Maruti Suzuki desires to expand its business and manufacturing hold.
After skimming through lands in Kutch and other places, the management has finally opted for land near Surendranagar, suggested the reports.
With Vibrant Summit around the corner, discussions are brewing at Maruti Suzuki management to sign an MoU in Jan 2024.
Notably, Gujarat is also home to Tata Motors manufacturing unit in Sanand.
