In a shocking incident, a 19-year-old man in Ahmedabad died after his colleague allegedly inserted an air compressor into his rectum.
The incident took place in an Ahmedabad-based manufacturing firm where the deceased, Pankaj Rai was working as a helper.
One of the relatives of Pankaj, who worked in the same area informed his father, Ravindra Rai about the incident. Pankaj’s father flew from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad to find that his son succumbed to injuries.
According to the FIR filed at Vatva GIDC Phase 4 police station, Rai’s colleague Prakash Kura ‘jokingly’ inserted the air compressor in Pankaj’s rectum due to which he fell down and was rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors at the hospital referred his case to LG Hospital in Maninagar, he died during the treatment.
A cop informed that the incident had caused Rai’s stomach to swell and part of his small intestine and rectum had got burst. Police have registered a complaint of causing death by negligence against Prakash Kura. Investigation is also underway.
