A massive fire broke out in the basement of a hospital in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat on Sunday, prompting authorities to shift about 100 patients to another hospital as a precautionary measure. The fire broke out at around 4.30 am in the basement of Rajasthan Hospital in Ahmedabad’s Shahibaug.
As many as 31 fire tenders rushed to the site to control the ablaze. Firefighting operations are currently underway and no injuries have been reported so far. The cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.
Smoke continues to emerge from the basement of the hospital and has reached the upper floors. The fire was so massive that the smoke was visible from afar.
