A 27-year-old Muslim youth has been arrested in Gujarat’s Surat for allegedly becoming a Hindu by making a fake Aadhaar card.
According to local police officials, there are a lot of Hindu people living in Awadh market here, so the Muslim youth was doing business of clothes by hiding his religion. For this, he had got a fake Aadhaar card made in the name of Hindu.
Police said that for 9 years, the accused youth was running a women’s clothing shop named Roohi Fashion in Awadh Bazar, Surat. During this, he used the name Ozair Alam for official documents, but the youth is alleged to have made fake Aadhaar cards in the names Arjun Singh, Bhanwar Singh. The reason behind this is said to be that the local people used to find it difficult to pronounce the real name of the young man, so people used to call him as ‘Arjun’, which may have influenced him to create fake Aadhaar cards in the names of Arjun Singh, Bhanwar Singh.
Police said that the accused youth broke down while being taken to the police station. During interrogation, he has given his real name as Ozair Alam, who is originally from West Champaran district of Bihar.
