Another service process of RTO has been made online by Gujarat Government. Now applications for scrapping of 15-year-old vehicles can be made online under the new rules of registration and scrapping procedure. Apart from that the vehicle can be scrapped only at a government approved registered scrapping facility.
The Central Government has promulgated rules regarding the registration of vehicle scrapping facilities and the procedure for scrapping. According to the press release of the office of the Transport Commissioner, registered vehicles in the state can be scrapped through scrapping facilities under these rules, for which an application has to be made at

Last year, the state government announced a policy on vehicle scrapping. Which is being effectively implemented across the state.
Digital India is being prioritized by the government to speed up the benefits of various services to people and reduce the burden of files in offices. For this most of the services have been made online. Most of the work of the RTO office is now online. In which the registration process from getting the number has already been done online.
