The Amdavad municipal corporation has hiked the fares of BRTS, including AMTS, which is becoming an important part of transportation.
A meeting was held today between AMC office bearers and commissioner regarding the fare issue of BRTS including AMTS. This issue, which has been pending for the last eight years, has been resolved in today’s meeting.
Monthly favorite pass increased from 750 to 1000, Talks of making the AMTS and BRTS fares the same had been rife earlier. Now, after the meeting of the authorities, the new price increase list has come out. As per the new price hike, the AMTS favorite pass has been increased from Rs 35 to Rs 45. While student pass was Rs 300 per month. It has been increased to 400. Apart from this, the girls’ pass has been increased from Rs 300 per month to Rs 350.
The new fare will be implemented from 1st July, While the one month pass of the favorite pass was Rs 750, it has been increased to Rs 1000. On the other hand, the quarterly pass has been increased to Rs 2500 from Rs 2 thousand. While the minimum rent has been fixed at five rupees. Apart from this, it has been decided that the ticket charges for any place will be 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 rupees. This new fare will be implemented from 1st July next. The new fare hike in BRTS will also be effective from July 1.
