Last night in Junagadh, Gujarat, a crowd of hundreds of people created a huge ruckus regarding the illegal dargah. The mob pelted stones fiercely after the notice of the administration against illegal construction and attacked the police post. Deputy SP, woman PSI and a policeman were injured in the attack.
Angry mob burnt many vehicles. to control the crowd, the police had to fire tear gas shells and lathicharge. At present there is a lot of tension in the area. A large number of police and Rapid Action Force personnel have been deployed.
The administration had given notice of illegal construction regarding a Dargah in Uparkot Extension of Junagadh. The people of the area were opposing it. In the intervening night of Thursday and Friday, this anger became uncontrollable and a war-like situation was created in Junagadh. The dargah where the removal notice was given is located right in front of Majewadi Darwaza.
