Tirthanand Rao, an actor and comedian who appeared in “Waghle Ki Duniya” and worked with Kapil Sharma on “Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe,” recently attempted suicide during a live Facebook session. The actor is now safe and back home.
In a conversation with one of the newspaper, Tirthanand said that he had an argument with his live-in partner over relationship issues and that was the reason why he took that step. “I live in Mira Road with my partner, after the incident where I attempting suicide I was rushed to a hospital but now I am home and I am alright.”
During the live session, he had said that he was in a “live-in” with the woman in question, but she “emotionally blackmailed” him. He also claimed that the woman pushed him into debt as she “extorted” money from him.
He said in the live video: “I am in debt of Rs 3-4 lakh because of this woman. I have known her since October last year. She had filed a police complaint against me in Bhayandar (a western suburb in Mumbai) and I didn’t even know for what reason. Then she would also call me and say she wanted to meet.”
He poured a bottle of insect repellant into a glass and drank it as he explained everything he was going through. When his friends quickly arrived at his house after witnessing him take the extreme step, they found him unconscious. The actor was taken urgently to the hospital after they called the police.
Similar to this, Tirthanand attempted suicide once before in December 2021 when he shown himself live on Facebook. He had called his assistant and explained why he was making this major change in his life.
When asked about his previous suicide attempt, he told, “At the time I was facing a severe financial crunch because I didn’t have work and had decided to take the drastic step.”
Tirthankar recently also shot with Abhishek Bahchchan for a south remake.
