A 22-year-old man from Chandkheda accused his neighbour and three others of assaulting him after he objected to a religious post in the society’s WhatsApp group. Akash Keshwani, a resident of Chandkheda had created the group for important updates related to the residential society.
Sandesh Chauhan, a society resident, posted the Gayatri Mantra in the group. Akash objected to it as the group was meant only for society-related updates.
Chauhan and the three others allegedly verbally abused and physically assaulted Keshwani for objecting to the message. Keshwani’s friend, Dhaval Prajapati, came to his rescue and helped him escape from the attackers. Despite this, Chauhan reportedly continued to threaten Keshwani with dire consequences.
Keshwani filed a complaint against Chauhan and the three others, accusing them of causing hurt, using abusive language, criminal intimidation, and abetment. The police are investigating the matter.
