The popularity of Maggi, an instant noodle brand, in India is well known. The quick-to-prepare dish is popular with many people and only requires a few minutes to prepare. The two-minute instant noodles have undergone a number of variations over the years from various people. While some of these experiments were successful, others only served to irritate foodies.
On Sunday, popular food vlogger Amar Sirohi (@foodie_incarnate) shared a video that showed a street vendor cooking Maggi adding extra ingredients like cream, an overload of butter and cheese, sauces, and vegetables.
Usually, one can simply prepare the noodles using its tastemaker and water. However, in this video, the cook liberally adds the above-mentioned ingredients and cooks them till the final dish loses all trace of being instant noodles. The video was taken at Raju Maggi Center, a fast food joint located in Athwa, Surat.
While sharing this video Amar Sirohi (@foodie_incarnate) wrote, âBhaiya ne maggi banai ya khichdi??đ€đ€â. This loosely translates to âDid he cook maggi, or khichdi?? đ€đ€â. Interestingly, the video is titled, â Most Famous Maggi of Suratâ.
This clip has gathered over 28,000 likes since it was posted on May 14. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, âMaggi and Dosa are the two of most murdered foodâ. Another person sarcastically wrote, âHey brother, you forgot to put ice cream â.
