The Saraswati Yantra and the colours of the National Flag served as inspiration for the design of the India Pavilion at Cannes 2023, created by the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad.
“A platform for our film community to network, greenlight scripts and showcase our creative economy to the world,” said NID while sharing the news in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The NID design team included Tanishka Kachru (project head), Shemal Pandya (exhibition designer) and Rahi De Roy (student intern).
The theme of the India Pavilion at Cannes is ‘Showcasing India’s Creative Economy’ to the global community.
The NID statement said, “The pavilion design is inspired by the Saraswati Yantra, the abstract representation of Goddess Saraswati, keeper of knowledge, music, art, speech wisdom and learning…”.
It added that the colours of the pavilion draw inspiration from the colours of the National Flag.
