Virendra Kher, Police Inspector, Kalol city police station, said, ‘The incident took place at around 7:20 am when the state transport bus near the Ambikapur bus stand was taking a turn to its left to park at the stop and a speeding private bus came and hit the other on the driver’s side. As a result, the ST bus rammed into the railing. The waiting passengers were crushed between the bus and the railing. Five people died and five were injured.’
