With the Gujarat Assembly in session, the Gujarat government’s Youth, Sports, and Cultural Activities Department has organised a cricket tournament for MLAs. On Monday, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the Swarnim Gujarat MLA Cricket League at a private cricket ground near Koba in Gandhinagar.
The tournament features ten MLA teams named after rivers in Gujarat, including the Sabarmati, Narmada, Saraswati, Shetrunji, Tapi, Vishwamitri, Mahisagar, Banas, and Bhadar. The tournament also includes a team of journalists.
Patidar youth activist and Viramgam MLA The Narmada team is led by Hardik Patel, while the Sabarmati team is led by Thakor community leader and Gandhingar (South) MLA Alpesh Thakor.
The tournament will come to an end on March 28. The opposition Congress MLAs are not taking part in the tournament.
