According to police, a man was arrested in Gujarat for allegedly threatening to carry out a series of bomb blasts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on Republic Day.
A Gujarat Police team arrested Om Prakash Paswan, a local of Devrar village, on Friday night, according to Station House Officer Praveen Singh of Maniyar police station.
According to officials, the Ahmedabad Police Commissioner’s office got a letter on January 25 threatening to blow up numerous locations in the city, including a railway station and a bus terminal. According to the Gujarat Police, four people were engaged in sending the letter, one of whom was a resident of Ballia, Uttar Pradesh.
In this regard, a Gujarat Police team landed at Maniyar police station on Friday and travelled to Devrar village alongside local police, according to officials.
Paswan, the primary culprit, was apprehended at his home, they claimed.
According to police sources, Prakash worked in the private sector and had just arrived home from Ahmedabad three days prior. He had no recent criminal history.
