Ahmedabad Man Murders His Sons, Commits Suicide By Jumping In Canal Over Marital Disputes

On November 21, a man killed his sons and committed suicide by jumping into the Narmada canal near Raipur village in Ahmedabad. Vinodji Thakor, the deceased, was allegedly distressed after his wife, Komal Thakor, left him and his children were sent to Komal’s parents’ house.

On November 23, police discovered Vinodji’s body in the jurisdiction of Santej police. On November 22, the body of the older son was discovered in the Kadi area, while the body of the three-year-old boy was discovered in the jurisdiction of the Bavlu police.

According to the report, it took police five days to file a FIR because the bodies had not been recovered. Vinodji’s father claimed that his son was depressed after his wife left him.

On the basis of his statement, the police filed a complaint of abetting suicide against the deceased’s wife, her mother, and a mediator named Gugaji Thakor on Sunday.

According to reports, the mediator has requested Rs 10 lakh from Vinodji in exchange for a divorce. He also stated that if he did not want a divorce, he would have to pay Rs 10,000 to his wife on a monthly basis.

The deceased’s father revealed that his son was a casual labourer with no steady income. He committed suicide on November 21, after leaving his home with his sons.
