Each party has used caste, community, or religion as the foundation of their campaign. However, Rajveer, who is running for the Gandhi Nagar South seat, thinks his politics are unique.
Rajveer, a clinical psychology student, submitted his nomination on November 17 for the Gandhi Nagar South constituency, which is currently controlled by the BJP.
Since BJP leader Alpesh Thakor, a former member of the Congress, is running from this seat this year, it is a hot topic. Doctor Himanshu Patel has been nominated by Congress for the position.
Despite his resolution, the administrative process has put an end to his attempt to change his name.
Since May 2015, Rajveer has submitted petitions to the Ahmedabad district collectorate and the Rajkot gazette office. In 2017, his two appeals were turned down.
Ironically, Rajveer is running unaffiliated with any caste in a district where Patels and Thakors are the majority.
Caste has long served as a potent campaign tool for the BJP and the Congress in this particular constituency.
