A shocking incident has been reported from Kannur district of Kerala where a man mercilessly kicked a minor boy as he touched his car. When the accused abused and kicked the 6-year-old boy, he was simply standing against the car.
On Thursday evening, the shocking incident occurred near the road in Thalassery Town, Kannur. Mohammed Shihshad has been identified as the accused.
Car owner’s allegations
As the accused abused and kicked the boy, people rushed to boy’s rescue and confronted the car owner. The accused, however, claimed that the boy tried to open the car door.
The entire sequence of event was caught on CCT camera installed at the traffic junction. The CCTV footage reportedly debunked the car owner’s claim that the boy was trying to open the door. However, the minor boy was just kicked for leaning against the car.
What CCTV video reveals
The video shows the boy leaning against the parked car and suddenly the man coming out of the vehicle kicking the victim. Later, the local residents took the child to the hospital. This incident has evoked sharp response from the netizens urging strong action against the accused and the police officers who allegedly tried to downplay the incident. The car owner was later arrested by the Thalassery police.
The man has been charged under relevant IPC sections including attempt to murder. Sources say that police initially tried to help the accused by booking him under petty charges. However as the Cctv footage went viral, cops had to arrest him Friday morning.
