Rainfall at isolated places across North Gujarat and Saurashtra provided much-needed relief to residents, who were braving scorching heat for the past few days, as Ahmedabad recorded 39.6 degrees Celsius of maximum temperature.
The Meteorological Department had predicted thunderstorm with lightning at isolated places over North Gujarat region and Saurashtra.
Meanwhile, Rajkot registered a maximum temperature of 39.4 degrees Celsius, Dessa recorded 39 degrees C, Vadodara recorded 38.6 degrees Celsius and Bhuj recorded of 36.4 degrees Celsius while Surat registered a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius
Ahmedabad had the highest maximum temperature in the region.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Light thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 30- 40 kmph (in gust) accompanied with light to moderate rain very likely at isolated places in the districts South Gujarat region namely, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Dang ,Valsad, Tapi ,Daman & Dadra Nagar Haveli.; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Bhavnagar, Amreli, Gir-Somnath & Junagadh for the next five days.
