Flipkart Grocery currently serves 1,800 cities and 10,000 pin codes across 23 states. Over the past two years, Flipkart Grocery has ramped up its operations by establishing 22 fulfillment centers spread over an area of 25.2 lakh square feet to cater to the growing nationwide demand.
The expansion of Flipkart’s Grocery services is encouraging first-time online shoppers from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities to benefit from the accessibility, affordability and ease of e-commerce.
Furthermore, deep investments made by Flipkart in the Grocery business have enabled thousands of direct and indirect jobs and boosted the economies of regions it operates in.
Flipkart has also partnered with several Farmer Producer Organizations across the country to ensure product quality and to support the livelihoods of millions of farmers.
During The Big Billion Days 2021, Flipkart’s Grocery category witnessed purchases by first-time customers from around 200 new cities and towns. Overall, the category saw a 2.3x growth in orders as compared to the previous year.
Flipkart ensures stringent quality control, over and above the mandatory checks, across its fulfillment centers and Grocery supply chains. The company’s Grocery fulfillment centers have fully digitized processes, including for quality check, as well as a quality management system to ensure that products are traceable right from the raw-material stage to the time they reach the consumer.
