Paying tribute to the late legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar, who died on Sunday, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday announced the establishment of an academy, a music school and a museum will be named after her in her birthplace Indore.
Chief Minister, Chouhan planted a tree in memory of Lata Mangeshkar at a smart park in Bhopal on Monday.
In addition, a statue of the singer will be built in Indore, and an award named after her will be presented in the state on her birthday.
“Her statue will be installed in Indore, which will inspire everyone,” the CM said. He said Lata Mangeshkar was Madhya Pradesh’s daughter, though the state was not her ‘karma bhumi’ (workplace). Her heart throbbed for MP, the CM said.
